MISSION
CCIRA collaboratively encourages, supports, and advances literacy through research-based instructional practices to increase literacy access to all.
VISION
All people will be empowered to critically engage in our changing world by developing and utilizing literacy skills throughout life.
The purposes of CCIRA are:
• To promote the improvement of literacy instruction at all levels with diverse populations
• To encourage lifelong habits in literacy and an appreciation of the value of reading and writing
• To support local councils and individual members in promoting and advancing literacy
• To recognize and honor significant contributions to and achievements in literacy
• To be a respected and viable voice in literacy conversations and decisions in Colorado
• To advocate for policies and practices that support the best for all learners
The following goals for 2022-2023 were established by the CCIRA Executive Committee:
Membership Goals
Conference Goals:
Continue to expand our impact by attracting conference attendees
from an ever-widening representation of educational experiences (public/private/charter schools, rural/urban/suburban communities), within Colorado and across the United States)
Increase conference attendance from approximately 800 people to 1200
Increase CCIRA membership from approximately 400 people to 1000
Reach out to conference attendees about why membership matters
Local Council Goals:
Increase outreach from currently active councils and support growing CCIRA membership
Marketing & Partnership Goals:
Increase social media activity by 50%
Increase the number of outreach opportunities at in-person events
Define and communicate who and what CCIRA is and what is provided to members
Leadership Development Goals:
Promote the idea that all members can bring forward people they believe would be effective leaders within the Executive Committee
